Sveika skolas saime!

Mēs gatavojamies uzsākt jauno mācību gadu Latviešu skolā. Šogad mūsu skola svin 75. gadu jubileju! Mineapoles - St. Paulas Latviešu skola bija uzsāka 1951. gada 4. februāri. Skola sākumā bija 45 skolēni un līdz gada beigām skolēnu skaits pieauga līdz 72! Šogad mums būs ap 30 skolēniem. Caur gadiem, skolēni mainas, bet viņu zināšanas no skolas laikiem paliek ar viņiem - latviešu valoda, vēsture, ģeogrāfija, dziedāšana, un arī tautas dejas. Tas viss paliek ar mums.

13. septembrī būs pirmā skolas diena. Sāksim rītu Lielājā zāle otrā stāvā plkst 9:30. Sveiksim skolēnus un skolotājus, pārrunāsim ko sagaidīsim no jaunā skolas gada, un iepazīsimies ar jaunām klasēm.  Skola sagādās picu pirmai dienai, un pēc pusdienām plānojam aizstaigāt uz Powderhorn parku kur notiks spēles.  Vecāki ir aicināti piedalīties ar palīdzību. 20. Septembrī plānojam uzņemt skolas bildi, un pēc pusdienām būs vecāku sapulce (plkst 11:40).  Lūdzam tanī sestdienā vilkt skolas kreklus, un ja jums kreklu nav, vai ir pa mazu, šo sestdien palīdzēsim jums sameklēt jaunu.

Hello, school community! We are getting ready for our school year to begin. Our 75th school anniversary happens this year. The Minneapolis-St. Paul Latvian school began February 4, 1951. School started with 45 students, and by the end of the year had grown to 72 students. This year we are expecting around 30 students. The students have changed, but what they learn - Latvian language, history, geography, singing, and folk dancing - continues. And so it is with us. September 13th will be our first school day. We will start at 9:30 as usual on the second floor with getting to know new students and teachers, and talk about what to expect with the new school year.  We'll spend a little time in our classes since we're moving around a little bit, and school will provide a pizza lunch for the first day.  After lunch we'll walk over to Powderhorn to play. We'll be taking the school picture the 20th of September and will also have the school parents meeting at 11:40 during lunch.  Please wear your school shirts for the picture day, and if you need a new one, or a different size please do so on the 13th.
