Meteņi (jeb Meteņdiena) ir vieni no latviešu gadskārtu svētkiem.  Meteņi ir nosacīts viduspunkts starp Ziemassvētkiem un Lieldienām jeb ziemas un pavasara saulgriežiem, kas iezīmē ziemas beigu tuvošanos un pavasara tuvošanos, līdz ar to Meteņus var dēvēt arī par pavasara gaidīšanas svētkiem. Agrāk latviski ar vārdu "meti" apzīmēja laika griežus vai kā Laima "met" savas dāvanas. Meteņbērni gaida pavasari.

Skola turpinās ar "Stundu saraksts - normal day".

Mēs aicinām visus lasīt un piedalīties Rumaka lasīšanas konkursā!  Rumaka formas, lai atzīmētu izlasīto atradisiet šeit: bērnu darzs - 4. klase un 5-8. klase.  Bildes (lasīšanas) var augšupladēt šeit vai sūtiet mnlatviesuskola@gmail.com

Bērnu Žūrija: Lūgums visiem, kas ir lasījuši kaut vienu Bērnu, jauniešu un vecāku žūrijas grāmatu, iesniegt savu balsojumu!

Anketas jāaizpilda līdz 14. februārim.

Vērtēšanas anketā Bērnu, jauniešu un vecāku žūrijas dalībnieks:

    • sniedz īsu informāciju par sevi,

    • atzīmē izlasītās grāmatas,

    • no izvēlētajām grāmatām sastāda savu grāmatu topu (1.–3. vieta),

    • pamato, kāpēc pirmajā vietā ielika tieši šo konkrēto grāmatu,

    • novērtē grāmatas noformējumu (vāku, ilustrācijas, ja tādas ir, burtveidolu un lielumu),

    • dod padomu citiem, kā vairāk lasīt,

    • raksturo sevi kā lasītāju – kādi ir viņa lasīšanas ieradumi.

Visus, kas būs lasījuši kaut vienu grāmatu (vārds atzīmēts žūrijas grāmatu kladē) sagaidīs pārsteiguma balviņa! 

Tādēļ, ja vēl neesat izņēmuši lasīšanai nevienu grāmatu, to vēl var paspēt izdarīt šo sestdien, lai saņemtu balviņu 21. februāra skolas dienā.

Meteņi is the time of year between the winter solstice and spring equinox or Christmas and Easter. The name may come form the early Latvian word "meti" which means the time period is changing or from the belief that Laima, the goddess of happiness, luck, fate and the protector of cows, "met" or threw her gifts to the world. Celebrators of Meteņi await spring.

Children's book jury: Everyone who has read at least one book from the Children’s, Youth, and Parents’ Jury is kindly asked to submit their vote!

This year, our library received 29 wonderful books - let's evaluate them.

Survey must be filled out by 14 February.

In the evaluation questionnaire, a member of the Children’s, Youth, and Parents’ Jury:

• provides brief information about themselves

• marks the books they have read

• creates their own book ranking from the selected books (1st–3rd place)

• explains why they placed that particular book in first place

• evaluates the book’s design (the cover, illustrations if there are any, the typeface and font size)

• gives advice to others on how to read more

• describes themselves as a reader – what their reading habits are like. Everyone who has read at least one book (their name marked in the jury’s book log) will receive a surprise prize!

Therefore, if you haven’t yet borrowed a book to read, you still have time to do so this Saturday in order to receive the prize on the school day of February 21.
